Darum geht’s
Handwerk trifft auf zeitgenössische Zirkuskunst: In „Sawdust Symphony“ spielen drei gelernte Jongleure ihre Leidenschaft für Werkzeug, frisches Holz und Objektmanipulation aus. Das Stück erzählt vom menschlichen Verlangen nach Beschäftigung. Vom rauschhaften Visionieren bis hin zur Fertigstellung des Werkes spannt sich ein Bogen über die tragisch-komischen Beziehung zwischen Maschine, Mensch und Arbeit. Der Geruch von Sägespänen und Benzin erfüllt den Raum während drei besessene Individuen eine Gratwanderung zwischen Genugtuung und Frustration unternehmen und eine Heimwerker-Erfahrung der anderen Art kreieren.

It’s about
Craftsmanship meets the art of contemporary circus: in "Sawdust Symphony", three trained jugglers mix their passion for tools, fresh wood, and object manipulation. The piece tells of the human desire to keep busy. From intoxicating visioning to the completion of the artwork, it spans the tragic-comic relationship between machine, human, and labour. The smell of sawdust and petrol fills the room as three obsessed individuals walk a tightrope between satisfaction and frustration, creating a DIY experience of a different kind.

Worth seeing because
The collective addresses a much-discussed question in a unique way: is circus art or craft? Man, body, material, and machine are combined by the three jugglers in an unusual way. "Sawdust Symphony" humorously hits the DIY nerve and can be seen both in the main programme and on the family day at various times.
