CLOWN*ESSES zeigt das Leben zeitgenössischer feministischer Clowns, die die Welt jenseits gelernter Strukturen auf den Kopf stellen. Die Clown*innen Gözde und Lokke emanzipieren sich von patriarchalen Strukturen und Repräsentationen auf der Suche nach ihrer ganz eigenen Heimat. Zwischen Bühne und Alltag finden sie ihre Konstante im Wandel und treten in einen Dialog mit sich und der Welt. Eine unterschätzte Theaterkunst wird zu einer Nische des Feminismus. Ein Dokumentarfilm zwischen Realität und Magie.

Das anschließende Gespräch mit der Regisseurin Jana Rothe wird von der Initiative feministischer Circus veranstaltet.

CLOWN*ESSES shows the lives of contemporary feminist clowns who turn the world upside down beyond learned structures. The clown*esses Gözde and Lokke emancipate themselves from patriarchal structures and representations in search of their very own homeland. Between the stage and everyday life, they find their constant in transformation and enter into a dialogue with themselves and the world. An underestimated theatrical art becomes a niche of feminism. A documentary between reality and magic.
